Bathroom Remodeling

San Diego bathroom remodels, waterproofed right.

Spa-style primary baths, walk-in showers, wet rooms, and hall-bath updates. The tile is what you see, but the waterproofing, drainage, and ventilation underneath are what make a bathroom last.

How we build it

What separates a good bathroom from a future leak.

Most bathroom failures are hidden: a shower pan that was never flood-tested, a membrane that stops short of the corners, a fan that vents into the attic. We build tiled showers on proper waterproof assemblies and slope floors to the drain, so the finished room performs as well as it looks.

Because we are a general contractor rather than a single-trade installer, we can also handle the bigger moves: relocating fixtures, enlarging a shower into a closet, reframing walls, or fixing subfloor damage uncovered during demolition.

  • Waterproof membranes and flood-tested shower pans
  • Floors sloped correctly to drains
  • Ventilation ducted to the exterior
  • Subfloor and framing repaired when damage is found
  • Plumbing and electrical updated to current code
Permitting

Permits for bathroom remodels.

Relocating plumbing fixtures, adding circuits, or altering walls typically requires a permit in San Diego jurisdictions. We let you know at the estimate stage and handle the paperwork and inspections.

Older homes often hide cast-iron or galvanized drain lines and subfloor rot under existing tubs and toilets. We inspect what we can before pricing and tell you plainly what could change once walls are open.

Bathroom Remodeling questions

Good to know.

01Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?
Yes. Tub-to-shower conversions are a common project. We rebuild the area with a proper waterproofed shower assembly rather than setting a liner over the old tub space.
02What is a wet room?
A wet room places the shower in an open, fully waterproofed area, often with the tub, behind glass or open to the room. It needs careful slope and waterproofing, which is exactly where we focus.
03Do you handle tile work?
Yes. We manage tile installation as part of the remodel, including large-format and detailed layouts, over a properly prepared and waterproofed substrate.
04Can my bathroom be made more accessible?
Yes. Curbless showers, blocking for grab bars, wider doorways, and comfort-height fixtures can all be built into the design.
